How to Rent Toronto Office Furniture

Wednesday, March 3rd, 2010

Moving into a new office? Furniture is a must! We think it’s safe to say that without a desk and chair, your employees will have a tough time getting work done. And where will your clients and business associates sit when they come in for a meeting? What about the break room area? Not to worry — Executive Furniture Rentals is the best place to rent Toronto office furniture. We have you covered.

If you’re interested in renting Toronto office furniture, know that the rental process is easy thanks to our trained rental consultants. Visit our showroom, call or email us, and our consultants will help you and send you a formal quote for signature as well as process your order upon receipt. If it’s a longer term rental, a credit application will probably accompany the quote. Once we receive the initial payment, we’ll bill you monthly.

Many people ask whether it’s possible to rent-to-own furniture. The answer is yes: All transactions have an immediate lease-to-purchase option if the client wants to. An established, approved credit card is the only credit required.

When you rent office furniture, the delivery can be made as soon as 48 hours. If that’s too long — if you need next- or same-day delivery — just contact us. Our Toronto furniture rental store is always happy to accommodate you. Rental delivery charges amount to just a fraction of the actual costs, and they’re only charged to offset some of the rising costs of fuel, labour and truck depreciation. Some of our competitors bury the cost of delivery and pick-up, but we do not do that.

All rental furniture is delivered to you in showroom condition, and in many cases, the furniture is new. The cost to rent office furniture depends on the value of the furniture and the time period.

If you’re ready to rent office furniture, we hope you’ll contact us at Executive Furniture Rentals. We’re proud to offer outstanding service and are ready to assist you.

Stage That Office to Sell (or Lease)!

Monday, February 22nd, 2010

Discover how Executive Furniture Rentals assists commercial real estate and property management companies to sell and rent properties quickly with office staging and home staging!

The present home staging phenomenon is so successful because it works. Fact: homes sell faster when staged.

Having completed the worst property market in a decade (2009), the need for commercial staging becomes a very useful marketing option. By enhancing the office space, prospective tenants can visualize how the space can work for their corporate needs.

Renting office furniture for private offices, reception or even workstation bullpens can easily be achieved on a temporary basis. As a side benefit, property managers can use the staged interiors as “Ready Offices” that can be rented with the property. Furthermore, custom requirements can be achieved within very short notice.

Commercial staging is truly an opportunity for designers, property managers, real estate and furniture rental companies to partner their expertise as they have done so successfully with the residential market.

Call me: (416) 785-0932. I would enjoy the opportunity to help plan your new marketing strategy!

Toronto Condo Rentals Up 12 Percent

Wednesday, February 10th, 2010

As the old Jerry Reed song goes, “When you’re hot, you’re hot. When you’re not, you’re not!” Which one are you?

From September to December 2009, the Toronto Real Estate Board (TREB) reported a 12% increase (from 2008) of condominium apartment rentals with the average rent being $1667 per month. (The current building boom in Toronto will add some 15,000 condo units with an obvious percentage being available for rent, by investors.)

This truly has an impact on the temporary corporate relocation, real estate and home staging industries: More properties for relocated employees to choose from; more sales/leases for agents ;and more units for home stagers to assist marketing.

Just think about it. If a company adds furniture rental (say, with bedding, kitchen, bath, etc.) to a modern unfurnished condominium, then add cable, high-speed Internet and phone, say for 6 to 12 months….that company will save from 25% to 35% compared to a pre-furnished condo. Do the math: It all adds up!

We are in a hot market. We all should be taking advantage of Toronto’s unique real estate boom. Call me. I would love to discuss how we can create opportunities for you. Contact Executive Furniture Rentals at (416) 785-0932, or contact us online. We’re your source for used furniture in Toronto and rental furniture.

What is Your Disaster Plan?

Tuesday, November 10th, 2009

Bob Dylan was “right on” when he wrote, “…The times, they are a changing!…” Within just a few years, in our own city, Toronto, we have experienced electrical blackouts, tornados, viral pandemics, terrorist plots and the effects of a global financial meltdown. Fortunately, the effects of the above were minimized and/or prevented from becoming much worse. My point is that, when I was growing up, these were issues that we read in the newspaper and seemed so far away; now, it is happening in our own backyard. What as a community, as a city, as a nation are we doing to plan for future catastrophic events that will affect us all?

I attended, last week, the monthly MPI (Meeting Planners International) meeting who hosted a panel discussion regarding Business Continuity Planning (BCP). The very fact that business is raising this most important issue to the foreground means that it is serious and essential for all of us to get involved and contribute.

There are basically three distinct control measures within a BCP: a) preventive measures aimed at preventing an event from occurring b) detective measures aimed at detecting or discovering unwanted events and c) corrective measures aimed at correcting or restoring the system after a disaster or event.

Rental Furniture: Ready to be Mobilized

Executive Furniture Rentals is very involved with business in assisting and creating solutions in the latter phase, corrective controls. Office rental furniture is ready to be mobilized into make shift properties, rental furniture for homes can be delivered within 48 hours. Presently, insurance brokers and adjusters take advantage of such services for re-settlement due to fires and most recently the tornado damage that occurred this summer.

I urge businesses, if they haven’t done so already, to develop an internal BCP and have it annually reviewed. As a leading Toronto furniture rental company, I would personally be very glad to participate and assist in such planning efforts. Also remember, continuity planning is not just for business, we can even start from within our own families.

I am reminded by Murphy’s Law that, “If anything can go wrong, it will.” We hope it won’t, but as citizens within our social and economic communities, best we be pro-active because the other alternative, reaction, often will create chaos and panic. Now is the time to plan. If you’d like some assistance with your plan or want to know more about rental furniture, feel free to contact us.

Furniture Rental Supports Trade Shows and Special Events

Wednesday, July 8th, 2009

You may go to a special event or trade show and see gorgeous white leather seating & tables, acrylic chairs or funky bar tables and chairs.  Chances are they have used furniture rental.  When you go to that fund raiser that has 1000 beautiful cloth covered chairs or to a corporate product launch that has the most unique theatre seating or space age tables and lights, chances are that is also all thanks to furniture rental.  Furniture rental is an integral part of any special event.  Show contractors, exhibit managers, hotel catering departments, meeting planners, corporate special events and so many more professionals depend on the furniture rental industry to supply modern, unique product that can produce the “WOW” at any event.

If you are exhibiting in a show, your show contractor or manager will always have a standard variety of furnishings available for rent.  If you are looking for the “unique” or different look from everybody else, calling local independent furniture rental companies may be your best bet.  Initiate your search by seeing what products they have online.  Make sure they are reputable and that their business specializes in trades shows and special events.  Get references.  Don’t be shy to ask.  Also make sure that whichever furniture rental company you choose, that they can deliver and pick up.

So what’s new in exhibit product lines?  Certainly modern is in.  Bright colours, as opposed to the black and gray that dominate specialty furniture for decades.  Furniture with curved, instead of boxy design and seating with no arms for flexibility purposes.  The reality of today’s furniture market is an Italian designed product, say a sofa, can be displayed at the Milan Furniture Show and three weeks later it is available for export from Asia for 1/3 the cost.  The exhibitor, in the end, usually wins.  I should mention that another current trend is that furniture rental companies are beginning to assist their clients with space planning and CAD design.  (Cort Trade Show Furnishings in the United States is pioneering this service).

I have a lot of respect for those in the exhibit and special events industry.  What I enjoy the most is the passion everyone in it has.  As the old adage goes, “There is no business like show business!”
