How to Rent Toronto Office Furniture

Wednesday, March 3rd, 2010

Moving into a new office? Furniture is a must! We think it’s safe to say that without a desk and chair, your employees will have a tough time getting work done. And where will your clients and business associates sit when they come in for a meeting? What about the break room area? Not to worry — Executive Furniture Rentals is the best place to rent Toronto office furniture. We have you covered.

If you’re interested in renting Toronto office furniture, know that the rental process is easy thanks to our trained rental consultants. Visit our showroom, call or email us, and our consultants will help you and send you a formal quote for signature as well as process your order upon receipt. If it’s a longer term rental, a credit application will probably accompany the quote. Once we receive the initial payment, we’ll bill you monthly.

Many people ask whether it’s possible to rent-to-own furniture. The answer is yes: All transactions have an immediate lease-to-purchase option if the client wants to. An established, approved credit card is the only credit required.

When you rent office furniture, the delivery can be made as soon as 48 hours. If that’s too long — if you need next- or same-day delivery — just contact us. Our Toronto furniture rental store is always happy to accommodate you. Rental delivery charges amount to just a fraction of the actual costs, and they’re only charged to offset some of the rising costs of fuel, labour and truck depreciation. Some of our competitors bury the cost of delivery and pick-up, but we do not do that.

All rental furniture is delivered to you in showroom condition, and in many cases, the furniture is new. The cost to rent office furniture depends on the value of the furniture and the time period.

If you’re ready to rent office furniture, we hope you’ll contact us at Executive Furniture Rentals. We’re proud to offer outstanding service and are ready to assist you.

Monday, February 22nd, 2010

Discover how Executive Furniture Rentals assists commercial real estate and property management companies to sell and rent properties quickly with office staging and home staging!

The present home staging phenomenon is so successful because it works. Fact: homes sell faster when staged.

Having completed the worst property market in a decade (2009), the need for commercial staging becomes a very useful marketing option. By enhancing the office space, prospective tenants can visualize how the space can work for their corporate needs.

Renting office furniture for private offices, reception or even workstation bullpens can easily be achieved on a temporary basis. As a side benefit, property managers can use the staged interiors as “Ready Offices” that can be rented with the property. Furthermore, custom requirements can be achieved within very short notice.

Commercial staging is truly an opportunity for designers, property managers, real estate and furniture rental companies to partner their expertise as they have done so successfully with the residential market.

Call me: (416) 785-0932. I would enjoy the opportunity to help plan your new marketing strategy!

What is Your Disaster Plan?

Tuesday, November 10th, 2009

Bob Dylan was “right on” when he wrote, “…The times, they are a changing!…” Within just a few years, in our own city, Toronto, we have experienced electrical blackouts, tornados, viral pandemics, terrorist plots and the effects of a global financial meltdown. Fortunately, the effects of the above were minimized and/or prevented from becoming much worse. My point is that, when I was growing up, these were issues that we read in the newspaper and seemed so far away; now, it is happening in our own backyard. What as a community, as a city, as a nation are we doing to plan for future catastrophic events that will affect us all?

I attended, last week, the monthly MPI (Meeting Planners International) meeting who hosted a panel discussion regarding Business Continuity Planning (BCP). The very fact that business is raising this most important issue to the foreground means that it is serious and essential for all of us to get involved and contribute.

There are basically three distinct control measures within a BCP: a) preventive measures aimed at preventing an event from occurring b) detective measures aimed at detecting or discovering unwanted events and c) corrective measures aimed at correcting or restoring the system after a disaster or event.

Rental Furniture: Ready to be Mobilized

Executive Furniture Rentals is very involved with business in assisting and creating solutions in the latter phase, corrective controls. Office rental furniture is ready to be mobilized into make shift properties, rental furniture for homes can be delivered within 48 hours. Presently, insurance brokers and adjusters take advantage of such services for re-settlement due to fires and most recently the tornado damage that occurred this summer.

I urge businesses, if they haven’t done so already, to develop an internal BCP and have it annually reviewed. As a leading Toronto furniture rental company, I would personally be very glad to participate and assist in such planning efforts. Also remember, continuity planning is not just for business, we can even start from within our own families.

I am reminded by Murphy’s Law that, “If anything can go wrong, it will.” We hope it won’t, but as citizens within our social and economic communities, best we be pro-active because the other alternative, reaction, often will create chaos and panic. Now is the time to plan. If you’d like some assistance with your plan or want to know more about rental furniture, feel free to contact us.

It’s the deal we hope we won’t have to do…

Tuesday, October 13th, 2009

As you read this, plans are being made by all levels of government in Canada for the possible resurgence of the Novel Influenza A (H1N1) pandemic virus, this autumn.

Currently, this virus makes up 95% of influenza strains detected by the Ontario Public Health laboratory.  The pandemic is expected to spread.  Sources say that 25% of our populations could be affected.  What can we do?….Prepare!!

On a personal level, Public Health suggests carrying hand sanitizers and sneezing in our upper sleeve or a tissue.  It is important to stay at home if one has flu symptoms and keep commonly touched surfaces clean and disinfected.  Be pro-active by being preventive.  Make plans within your business and family to reduce the risk of acquiring this virus.

On a broader level, Medical Institutions, in coordination with Public Health are planning for the possibility of mass immunization in temporary spaces.  Hospitals will need to service the overflow of emergency cases in temporary facilities.  These spaces will need temporary furnishings and Executive Furniture Rentals has been put on alert with very limited notice.  It’s what we do.

For over 50 years we as a furniture for hire company have been involved in emergency planning.  We are honoured to contribute our services.  It is however, the deal we hope we won’t have to do.

Why Renting Office Furniture Makes Sense

Monday, April 6th, 2009

With today’s fragile economy, there has never been a time in the last 25 years when renting office furniture has become a major strategic option for both large and small companies alike.

It’s quite amazing how many Fortune 500 companies in the United States have long made renting office furniture their core policy as a purchasing alternative. In Canada, however, aside from existing U.S. affiliates, renting office furniture is just becoming recognized as a sound solution to future planning and budgets. The reasons are multiple, but let me mention a few:

Renting Office Furniture Conserves Capital

Buying office furniture ties up capital or credit. But renting office furniture frees those assets for more productive uses. Renting office furniture requires no down payment. Since rental payments are classified as an operating expense rather than a capital investment, furniture costs are fully deductible and can be expensed monthly rather than capitalized over the life of the furniture which eliminates the necessity to depreciate the furnishings.

Renting Office Furniture Offers Flexibility

Both growth and down-sizing requires flexibility, therefore, renting office furniture is an ideal way to make sure that furnishings match current trends. Pieces can be added and subtracted easily and inexpensively, usually on 48 hours notice or less.

When the rental contract expires, furniture is simply returned, without the cost and hassle of liquidating used furniture. Today furniture rental companies may offer high grade branded office furniture such as Steelcase, Herman Miller, Haworth as well as Hon , Trendway, Global and so much more. One should inquire with all renting office furniture companies about their purchase option. You will be amazed how easy acquisition can be. Most renting office furniture companies allow rental payments to be applied directly to the purchase, if they wish and structure it to best suit clients needs.

Renting Office Furniture Benefits Employee Productivity

Twentieth-century thinking was always “looking successful is part of being successful” and “renting office furniture lets a small business put its best foot forward.” Today, there really is an onus for owners, facility managers and commercial interior designers to provide employees with functional working tools that allow employees to maximize their productivity. When acquiring office furniture, they are in essence contributing to the company “culture”. Today’s trends lend towards lower workstation panels, flexibility of design (wheels on tables), encouragement for employees to interact (sounds like all this could be a topic for a future blog!), environmentally friendly manufactured furniture and much more!

Since rental furniture dealers offer the same quality and selection found at many leading retailers, companies can provide their employees with the newest designed office furniture without the necessary commitment of purchasing. This is especially true for shorter term renting office furniture requirements, such as swing-space applications, workplace pilot-testing, temporary projects or simply waiting for new furniture to arrive.

It Just Makes Sense to Rent Office Furniture

Renting office furniture is the smart alternative for small business. Renting conserves capital, provides flexibility and increase employee productivity while enhancing company culture – without a large investment! “Buy what appreciates, rent what depreciates”. It just makes good business sense.
