Toronto Home Staging Furniture

Friday, February 25th, 2011

Selling a home is stressful, but Executive Furniture Rentals can help by providing Toronto home staging furniture. Whether you plan to do the job yourself, or hire a professional home stager, your home should look its best before potential buyers come through to judge the property. Staging is all about maximizing the most sellable features of your home, so incorporating high-quality, modern furniture can make a big impact. That’s where we come in.

Our selection of Toronto home furniture is available to rent through flexible lease plans, so it’s perfect for an endeavor like home staging. The goal is to get your home sold as soon as possible and for the best price, so we will work with you to make convenient arrangements. When choosing Toronto home staging furniture, we recommend going for a neutral color palette and choosing pieces that reflect modern interior decorating trends.

Remember, you’re creating the first impression for potential buyers who visit your home, so the details count. That’s why we provide a great selection of furniture rental in Toronto, with offerings from great office furniture right down to accessories like area rugs and artwork. These will make every room in your house look streamlined and clean, yet cozy and livable. We’ve gathered a few basic home staging tips to share, which you should definitely keep in mind when attempting to stage it yourself. It’s a cost-effective alternative to hiring a professional, but does require a significant investment of time and effort.

For starters, clean as thoroughly as possible. Even the best Toronto home staging furniture will be less effective if the room around it looks dirty or cluttered. Plan on cleaning tile grout and addressing carpet stains. If you have a lot of collectibles or small figurines on display, go ahead and pack those up before showing the home. You will have to pack them at some point anyway, and their personal nature could prevent potential buyers from envisioning their own lives in the space.

Green Furniture in Sonoma, California

Wednesday, February 16th, 2011

As purveyors of some of the finest furniture rental in Toronto around, we know great furniture when we see it—after all, we see it every day in our showroom.  But simply because we’re in the furniture field doesn’t mean we don’t appreciate what others do.  Far from it, actually.  We thrill at seeing elegant, novel approaches to home furnishing, approaches like what Michael Palace of Sonoma, California does.

We came across an article about Michael Palace’s furniture creations, located on SonomaPatch while trawling through our trusty saved search for “furniture” on our favorite news aggregator.  Palace has a background in art and design and has spent decades working as a carpenter, contractor, and custom remodeler.  After realizing the sheer amount of waste that is produced via construction can be alarmingly high, he decided to do something about it.  He started off by saving usable pieces of construction materials and figuring out a way to repurpose them.  He now puts his findings to good use by designing and creating custom-designed furniture.

The article is an engaging and worthwhile read.  In addition to describing how he comes across the materials he uses for his creations (sometimes by donation, other times by simple foraging), the article highlights the benefits of Palace’s waste-not approach. Palace’s work process is also given some treatment.

A particularly rewarding passage occurs when the author, Morgan Ray, describes how Palace constructs his carefully wrought creations by using tried-and-true methods of quality furniture crafting, not simple fixes like nails and screws.  Ray describes the “mortise and tenon joints, dovetail drawers and doweled jambs” Palace frequently employs, which we find to be a rather pretty turn of phrase.

From one organization that understands quality furniture to Palace, a kindred spirit located in sunny California, we offer cheers and support for fighting the good fight.

Office Furniture: Buyers Growing Wary of Price Tag

Wednesday, February 16th, 2011

We pride ourselves in providing office furniture in Toronto at a fair price.  We also pride ourselves in being able to offer office furniture in Toronto in a variety of ways, such as via rental or by way of clearance furniture sales.  Both of these options allow increased flexibility for office furniture purchasers, permitting them to acquire the furniture they’re looking for in the most cost-effective way available to them.

Cost-effective office furniture acquisition is increasingly important these days, even with rumors of an economic rebound on the horizon.  According to an article about office furniture we found on HeraldNet, the website for The Herald of Everett, Washington, there appears to be a trend in the Puget Sound area away from the purchase of brand-new furniture and towards the purchase of clearance furniture, something we may see mirrored for purchases of office furniture in Toronto.

Brian Hollingshead, the owner of Everett Office Furniture, a retailer that sells new and used office furniture in the Everett area, has certainly noticed a trend in his own business.  Where two years ago about 25 percent of his sales were for used or clearance furniture, today, that number hovers closer to half.  That’s a pretty big jump.  Hollingshead also has a wonderful quote about the rationale for selling clearance furniture.

“You put a desk in a spot and there isn’t much to go wrong with it,” he said.

We can certainly agree with that statement.  Clearance furniture at Executive Furniture Rentals is always top-notch, and our office furniture in Toronto is particularly strong.  Since office furniture is often more sturdy than home furniture, something the HeraldNet article points out, finding excellent pieces of pre-owned furniture is surprisingly easy.

The next time you’re considering office furniture in Toronto, it might help to think beyond purchasing new furniture.  Clearance furniture and rental solutions are also great options.  Contact us today to learn more.

Special Event Furnishings Toronto: CORT’s New Products For 2011

Thursday, February 3rd, 2011

We here at Executive Furniture Rentals are focused on bringing the best special event furnishings in Toronto.  After all, we’re a product of this fine city, and we pride ourselves in providing top-notch local service whenever and wherever possible.

Whether we’re discussing our special event furnishings in Toronto solutions or any of our other unparalleled services such as home furniture rental, office furniture rental, and custom corporate housing, the fact remains that we hone our efforts in on Toronto.  This is our backyard, and we have the experience and expertise to provide the best services possible here, so that’s where we focus our work.

However, just because we work primarily in Toronto doesn’t mean we’re not well-connected elsewhere.  Indeed, as a member of the esteemed CORT Global network, we’ve established ourselves as part of a far-reaching group that shares our core values of excellence, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.

Today, we’re proud to announce some of CORT’s new products for the upcoming 2011 season.

Consider, for example, the Essex Collection, which is CORT’s take on the current furniture trend of Hollywood style.  Consisting of a two-tone sofa and chair, the Essex Collection is sure to please.

Another new product is Luna Transformations, which points to an ingenious method of redecoration.  An adhesive in four translucent patterns, Luna Transformations allows anyone to add a new element of visual interest to any Luna Lighting furniture.  It’s a practical and savvy way to put a new spin on already excellent furniture.

These announcements are always an exciting time, because many of these products go on to be spectacular successes.  Case in point: the 2010 introduction of the Endless Seating Collection, a system of modular seating.  It’s the kind of forward-thinking vision that engendered the Endless Seating Collection that we nurture in ourselves, and that we’re happy to see in an organization like CORT.
