Be Kind to an Intern

Wednesday, March 31st, 2010

This is the season to start thinking about summer…interns (and you thought I  was going to say “golf”).

Most companies, public and charitable organizations, enjoy the new talents of summer students.   Internship programmes are critical for businesses, for it is through these programmes that students experience the workplaces of their futures.   Most importantly, a good fit is determined between the employer and employee, which is an excellent way to ensure the best and the brightest come to work on your team.

So how do you welcome these budding young stars of tomorrow?

Gone are the days when employers would give the intern an old chair on four casters and a folding table in the corner.  We need to show a respectful workplace environment to the next generation in hopes of luring them in the future.

Renting office furniture allows interns to have the most contemporary ergonomically designed furniture at a fraction of the cost of buying new. When the internship is completed, the furniture is simply picked up.

Rental furniture is a key way you can make the most of your summer internship opportunities by providing a good working environment today, which is a sign of your commitment to the employees of tomorrow.

Let Executive Furniture Rentals help plan your internship workplace. Let’s talk about the future!

Selling Your Toronto Home

Wednesday, March 17th, 2010

When it comes to selling a home in Toronto, home staging gives sellers an edge. Staged homes look impressive to potential buyers and sell faster.

A friend recently forwarded us an interesting article in Palm Springs, California’s Desert Sun newspaper, in which expert Kenn Cross offers tips to help homeowners sell their property. “This is a very completive market and homes no longer sell themselves,” writes Cross. “A Realtor can use every resource under the sun to market a home, but it is up to the homeowner to prepare the house to be sold.”

Cross’ tips for homeowners are simple, and he reminds everyone that even though completing the tips is easy and will help a home shine, there’s always room for improvement. First on the list? Fragrance. According to the writer, small diffuser bottles can help cover up not-so-pleasant smells from pets, cigarette smoke or just that “old house” smell. He also recommends paying attention to your windows: Clean them and use window treatments. And instead of personal art on the walls, hang mirrors to “increase the perceived size of the space” and “help potential buyers visualize themselves in your home.”

Personal photos are a no-no as well, as they can make potential buyers feel like they’re taking over someone’s house, according to Cross. Don’t forget to clean —  even baseboards, ceiling fans and under furniture — and de-clutter. Too much furniture in rooms and too many clothes in closets doesn’t look good. This is where home staging can really help. The writer didn’t mention it, but we feel home staging is a smart, efficient way to make sure you not only have the right amount of furniture in your home, but that your home looks as attractive as possible.

Our Toronto home staging services at Executive Furniture Rentals are easy and affordable. We have experts who can help you determine exactly what you need for your home and where it should be placed. Furnish Your Toronto Home with Used Furniture

Tuesday, March 9th, 2010

We can’t say it enough: Used furniture is one of the most affordable ways to furnish your home. Many people think of old, ripped and stained couches and worn tables when they think of used furniture, but when you shop for it at the right place, you’ll find an incredible selection of gently-used items that would be perfect for your home. In Toronto, one such place is Executive Furniture Rentals. We’re proud to be your source for used furniture in Toronto.

Used Furniture Makes Toronto Homes Comfortable

So you just moved into your new Toronto home, and after paying a security deposit, application fee and first and last month’s rent, you’re broke — too broke to buy any furniture. The good news is that you have an affordable option: used furniture! It’s one of the biggest secrets of bargain shoppers. You can save bundles on a bedroom set, sofa or desk just by getting it used. The best part is that you’ll probably have a hard time telling that it’s used — furniture in our inventory is in great shape.

In fact, some used furniture is only used for days or weeks. This can happen when, for example, a company wants to furnish an apartment for a corporate relocation. If the person’s stay is only for a short time, there’s no longer a use for that furniture, so it may become available for purchase.

But I want stylish furniture, you might say. Not to worry! You’ll find plenty of stylish, modern pieces in our inventory. From leather recliners to ergonomic desk chairs to pristine sofas, it’s easy to find used furniture that will make your Toronto home not only comfortable, but beautiful.

Your Toronto Used Furniture Source

We don’t mean to brag, but our selection of used furniture is unbeatable. We’d love for you to come and see it so that you can find quality pieces to make your home look wonderful. Stop by our Toronto showroom, or contact us online. Feel free to call us with questions, too: (416) 785-0932 or toll-free at 1 (800) 618-1733. We also offer furniture for hire and office furniture.

How to Rent Toronto Office Furniture

Wednesday, March 3rd, 2010

Moving into a new office? Furniture is a must! We think it’s safe to say that without a desk and chair, your employees will have a tough time getting work done. And where will your clients and business associates sit when they come in for a meeting? What about the break room area? Not to worry — Executive Furniture Rentals is the best place to rent Toronto office furniture. We have you covered.

If you’re interested in renting Toronto office furniture, know that the rental process is easy thanks to our trained rental consultants. Visit our showroom, call or email us, and our consultants will help you and send you a formal quote for signature as well as process your order upon receipt. If it’s a longer term rental, a credit application will probably accompany the quote. Once we receive the initial payment, we’ll bill you monthly.

Many people ask whether it’s possible to rent-to-own furniture. The answer is yes: All transactions have an immediate lease-to-purchase option if the client wants to. An established, approved credit card is the only credit required.

When you rent office furniture, the delivery can be made as soon as 48 hours. If that’s too long — if you need next- or same-day delivery — just contact us. Our Toronto furniture rental store is always happy to accommodate you. Rental delivery charges amount to just a fraction of the actual costs, and they’re only charged to offset some of the rising costs of fuel, labour and truck depreciation. Some of our competitors bury the cost of delivery and pick-up, but we do not do that.

All rental furniture is delivered to you in showroom condition, and in many cases, the furniture is new. The cost to rent office furniture depends on the value of the furniture and the time period.

If you’re ready to rent office furniture, we hope you’ll contact us at Executive Furniture Rentals. We’re proud to offer outstanding service and are ready to assist you.
