Corporate Housing A La Carte!

July 29th, 2010

corporate housing torontoIn today’s fast-paced environment we are accustomed to multiple options so we choose what we need, when we need it. Our Custom Corporate Housing Programme (CCHP) is a flexible effective solution to corporate housing for stays of 12 months or more. Budget is everything and CCHP helps you save money and stay within your budget.

CCHP is simple. It is a menu of choices specifically designed for budgets that are less than what the major corporate housing providers can offer, yet you have the freedom to choose what is essential and what is not.

For example, you may be able to find an unfurnished condo or home, then call us to provide home furniture, bedding, kitchenware, or even require us to arrange high speed Internet, phone, cable and housekeeping. Combine the two bills and you may end up with a 20% – 30% savings compared with a similar furnished suite/home in the same building or neighborhood. Just want to rent furniture, only? The savings is even greater. Do you want us to property manage the suite, to create one bill? We can do that.

Discover how Executive’s CCHP can trim your temporary relocation budget. Call me personally to chat about the possibilities.

Have Your Walls and Move Them Too

July 22nd, 2010

Yes, there is a better solution than drywall.

Moveable walls prove to be economical, flexible, quicker to install, eco-friendly, making building permits for walls obsolete and at the same time may contribute LEED points to your project certification.

Furthermore, the acoustic rating allows isolation of private work spaces. The best part is, if your company decides to relocate or re-configure….no problem, just re-install your walls!

But what is the cost?

Moveable walls come at a similar cost to dry wall construction. However, there is less mess. Most importantly, it can become either an asset by purchasing, 100% tax deductible by leasing, or provide immense flexibility by renting.

Allow my team to further explain the benefits of moveable walls, either to buy, lease or rent. Don’t let interior walls become your problem, let it become your advantage!

Kitchen Furniture in Toronto

July 16th, 2010

With 30,000 square feet of showroom space to work with, we have quite a spectrum of options to satisfy any furniture customer’s needs.  From leather couches to coffee tables, from office panels and systems to bar stools, we’ve got you covered.  This post, we’re going to focus on the kitchen, and discuss some tips for picking out furniture ideal for its needs.  Executive Furniture Rentals is truly the premier destination for kitchen furniture in Toronto, and we’re going to help you get the most out of our selection.

One unique thing about furnishing a kitchen is that, unless you plan on shelling out for massive redecoration/renovation, the general “look” of your kitchen will already be determined.  This is due to the fact that your cabinets, counter tops, and appliances are already installed, and since they will (hopefully) share some sort of visual uniformity, your complementary kitchen options will be limited.  This has its benefits and drawbacks.  On the one hand, you won’t have as many paths to consider when picking furnishings out, which should theoretically make deciding on a look easier.  On the other, however, you’ll have less leeway to truly get as creative as you’d like because of those very limitations.

So it goes.  Once you’ve decided what sort of feel you’ll want, it’s time to start stocking the kitchen with the appropriate furnishings.  In this instance, you’ll want to start off with the biggest items first before you move to the smaller ones.  This is done in an attempt to maintain that unified aesthetic mentioned in the previous paragraph.  For example, you’ll want to figure out which kitchen buffets and tables you’re wanting to  buy before you move on to the kitchen chairs.  Of course, you can avoid this whole mix-and-match quandary by buying furniture by the room, which will ensure harmony between all pieces.

At Executive Furniture Rentals, we offer a whole lot more than just kitchen furniture.  We also offer office furniture, home staging solutions, and more.  Trust us to fulfill all your furniture needs in the Toronto area.

Cleaning Leather Furniture

July 9th, 2010

leather furniture torontoAt Executive Furniture Rentals, we take pride in being the premier destination for furniture rental in Toronto.  The reason we are is because we offer an excellent menu of services, all of which are thoughtfully considered and offered at reasonable prices.

Among our other upholstered and wood-based products, we also offer leather furniture for rent.  We’re big fans of leather due to it supreme comfort and elegant aesthetic appeal.  Leather furniture, like all leather goods, needs a bit of love to operate at its optimal level.  However, with that modicum of maintenance, leather furniture can service you well for years to come.

Cleaning your furniture is often thought to be the biggest downside to having leather upholstery; however, with a little planning and some quick response time, this concern can be almost completely mitigated.  If you experience a spill, immediately wipe up any excess liquid by carefully blotting the area with a dry cloth until there’s no moisture left.  If the spill was from a non-water liquid, it might help to alternate blotting with damp and dry cloths.  In many cases, this method will be enough to prevent any staining.  However, there there may be occasions when you’ll want to use a leather cleaner to ensure that no stain remains.  If that’s so, keep a bottle of water soluble leather cleaner on standby and apply as directed on the cleaner’s packaging.

Looking for leather couches in Toronto?  We have quite a selection for you choose from, ranging from the Bedford loveseat pictured above to tufted Queen Anne-style chairs.  A host of other options are available in our 30,000 square feet of showroom space. We also offer a range of other services, including offering excellent packages for home staging, as well as for special event furnishings.  Whatever your furniture needs may be in the Toronto area, we’ll be glad to help out, whether you need a single chair or an entire office’s worth of furnishings.

Home Staging: What You Might Not Know

July 8th, 2010

If you’ve read this blog with any regularity, you’ll know that we’re big proponents of supporting home staging in Toronto and the surrounding area.  There’s a simple reason for that:
We’ve seen it work time and again.

Home staging refers to the process of temporarily and strategically furnishing a space when showing it for resale.  The goal is to accentuate the positive features of a space, as well as to illustrate the possibilities of the layout of a particular home or office.  Home staging, when done well, can transform any space from an interchangeable, empty room into an inviting, welcoming area.  What’s more, it doesn’t interfere with any moving schedule you might have.  You can pack up whatever furniture and decor you’re planning on taking without worrying about showing an empty place to prospective buyers if you’re planning on staging your property.

Home staging might sound like a very straightforward process in which someone simply rents furniture and sticks it in an empty space.  It might come as a surprise, then, to know that home staging is actually a rather delicate and complex process.  Balances need to be struck.  Too little furniture, and a space looks awkwardly empty.  Too much, and it looks cluttered.  The best home stagers put a significant amount of effort into their work, almost as though they were decorating their own home, and their results reflect that commitment.  We are pleased to provide you with recommendations for a number of home stagers in the Toronto area upon request.

We bring the same dedication to excellent service to this new and burgeoning field as we do with our many other endeavors, which include renting home and office furniture in Toronto.  After all, as the premier destination for furniture for hire in this fine city, we have a reputation to hold up.  Contact us today to learn more about our wide range of services.

More Than a Home Stager!

June 14th, 2010

By now, we all know that home staging has grown into a legitimate multi-million dollar industry, servicing many home sellers with talented interior solutions to maximize real estate value. But did you know the decorative talents of home stagers are being successfully used in other sectors such as temporary relocation and corporate housing?

As a furniture rental company, I am finding more opportunities to provide turn-key housing solutions to temporarily relocated employees by contracting or referring home stagers to plan and prepare corporate houses and suites. Companies who rent furniture as a housing option are beginning to demand the suite (or house) be completely ready for the employee to move in: furniture planned; kitchen; bath; bedrooms and linen all organized; and the house has become a home.

I truly enjoy providing a custom corporate residence option. The economic benefits for companies are immeasurable from a cost benefit analysis to instant employee productivity. When asked, in my mind there is no better qualified person to provide a decorative, budget conscious solution than the professional home stager.

Moving to Toronto?

June 11th, 2010

Planning on moving to Toronto?  Whether you’re deciding to make such a relocation for a business opportunity, because of the allure of our fine city, or an irresistible combination of the two, Toronto has loads to offer for just about any new Torontonian transplant.

From a sheer numbers standpoint, the “loads to offer” bit makes a great deal of sense.  Toronto is Canada’s largest city, and its greater metropolitan area anchors the Golden Horseshoe of Southern Ontario, which is home to nearly 25% of Canada’s population.  Put enough hardworking people in one area and great things are bound to happen.

As the foremost city in Canada, Toronto’s economy centers around the business and finance sectors.  Home to the Toronto Stock Exchange, as well as the headquarters of all the primary banking institutions in Canada and a host of other corporations, Toronto certainly comes to work every day.

Our motto is “Diversity Our Strength,” and the vibrant, multicultural dynamism of our city can certainly attest to that.  Toronto boasts of the second-highest proportion of foreign-born residents of any major city in the world, edged out by only Miami in the United States.  However, Toronto’s immigrant population is much more polyglot, featuring Latinos, Asians, Europeans, and Africans in demographically significant populations.  This makes for a wonderful melting pot of cultures, cuisines, and ways of life, all within one city.

When you combine all those differing perspectives, you get a bevy of cultural opportunities to check out, and Toronto has that in spades.  It’s a North American center of theater, film, and art, and there are many shopping and nightlife districts, such as the Distillery District and the Yorkville neighborhood, worth visiting.

We here at Executive Furniture Rentals are proud to offer home furniture in Toronto.  Take advantage of our services, which also include custom corporate housing, as well as office furniture rental, and we’ll make your transition as smooth as possible.

Aeron Chairs in Toronto

June 3rd, 2010

aeron chairs torontoThe Aeron chair is a Herman Miller product, designed in 1994 by Don Chadwick and Bill Stumpf. It soon became a symbol of the dot-com bubble in the late 1990’s.

The chair was intentionally ergonomically designed to be very comfortable due to it’s range of fittings and adjustability. What makes it unique is the back seat which is made of stretched, semi transparent and flexible mesh called Pellicle.

Other manufacturers have followed with lighter and environmentally friendlier chairs such as Steelcase’s Think and Knoll’s Chadwick, but Aeron has maintained its icon status over time.

You’ll see the chair in Trump’s Apprentice board room, Elle Magazine’s meeting room (did you see the last episode of “The City”?) and dozens of other movies and commercials which fuels Aeron’s super status. In fact, we just rented 10 to an upcoming movie presently being shot in Toronto ( sorry, we are not allowed to reveal details)!

While Aeron may be North America’s most popular chair, it may not be the best chair for everyday office use. We have a variety of other office furniture in Toronto that can suit the needs of any office on any budget. I hope you will join me in the upcoming posts as I examine some alternative seating that may just be healthier for our bodies. Stay tuned!

Here’s a timeless commercial for the Herman Miller Aeron:
